Blackberry Curve Touch
Blackberry is moving into the touchscreen market. With the upcoming release of the BlackBerry Curve Touch, BlackBerry fans can now also get the touchscreen technology. This is a departure from having a full QWERTY keyboard which was a revolutionary feature in original Blackberry designs that led to emulation by other mobile phone makers. While some of the details of this upcoming smartphone are cloaked in secrecy, some information has been revealed.

Apparently, the BlackBerry Curve Touch will feature a smaller touchscreen. Many hope that as a result, the price on this phone will be more affordable to many. Some indications are that it will be 3.25” making it already different looking than the BlackBerry Torch. The resolution of the touchscreen is to be a modest resolution of 480 x 360. This will create a total screen pixel density of 189 ppi.
The BlackBerry Curve Touch will utilize the most recently released Blackberry OS 7. It comes with a decent 800MHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. Also, part of the phone’s features includes a 5 megapixel camera. The camera comes with a built-in 1 GB flash. The camera can also be used to receive videos at 720p resolution. A microSD card slot is also part of this phone with 1 GB of RAM. The Blackberry Curve Touch is also able to access WiFi as well as Bluetooth.
The BlackBerry Curve Touch will also come with features that are standard on other BlackBerry smartphones. This would include access to thousands of apps in the Blackberry App World. With the addition of a touchscreen phone to their line, BlackBerry is sure to draw in BlackBerry fans that have long been waiting for the company to integrate touch technology into their phones. The anticipation grows as consumers wait for the official release of the BlackBerry Curve Touch slated to be on the markets in late 2011 or early 2012.
