The LaCie eSATA Rugged External Hard-Drive of 500GB is already available, and priced at $160. LaCie is a popular manufacturer of storage devices and their latest unit is the eSATA Rugged hard-drive. Obviously it is an external drive and it seems to be the first drive on the market that has a Power eSATA port. The writing/reading speeds should be approximately of 90MB/s while using an eSATA cable to connect the drive to the computer.
If your computer doesn’t have an eSATA port you can use the included Y-cable that lets you connect the device to a USB port, but the speeds will be much slower.
