Okay, let’s discuss the update of the leaking of information about some upcoming BlackBerry smartphones.

The first is BlackBerry Dakota. I’ve heard from CrackBerry podcasts and it was codenamed magnum. No photos have ever dropped to date of dakota or magnum, but essentially it will be RIM’s first hybrid device (GSM) that combines a full qwerty physical keyboard with both a touchscreen and a trackpad. The new BlackBerry Dakota news dropped by Salomondrin (or somebody Sal knows really well) is that it sounds like RIM may be going in a different direction with the camera lens technology on this one and utilizing a liquid lens.

BlackBerry Essex, or BlackBerry Tour 2: The truth is that we were looking ahead to it the whole time, but the Tour 2 was being disguised with the code-name ‘Essex’. Who knows if it will stick, but we do know for sure that the Essex will replace the current Tour very early 2010 (likely January or February).
